This year, I have the privilege of working with your child in Post Intensive French (PIF) Grade 8. I have planned various oral, reading and writing activities to improve his/her French skills using various resources. I wish to emphasize how important it is to be exposed to a second language to maximize learning. And so, I encourage each of my students to read in French, on a regular basis. They can read books of their choice, magazines or French newspapers such as L’Acadie Nouvelle, L’Étoile, etc. or listen to French radio/music, watch French movies/television and even go out and experience some of our bilingual community culture (restaurant, festivals, etc.). We will discuss current and cultural events during our lessons. Our encouragements will most certainly benefit your child’s success in his/her quest to improve his/her second language. You will be able to view your child’s progress including homework and projects deadlines through this Grade 8 Website: www.aubefrancais.weebly.com. I will also offer extra help every week during lunch recess on Mondays and Tuesdays and upon request. Please feel free at any time during this year to contact me by email at [email protected] for questions or suggestions. You can also send me a quick note with your child. Together, we can make this school year a success!
Yours in education,
